Worth reading if you like Dystopian novels.
Crossed by Ally Condie. 2nd book in the Matched Series. Dystopian.
The second book in the Matched series, Crossed, by Ally Condie, continues the story of Cassia fighting with her love of Ky... or maybe Xander? n search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake. Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.
Book Review: Crossed (Matched Trilogy, Book 2), By Ally Condie
Worth Reading, The Hunger Games, Young Adult, Book Worth, Matching Trilogy, Good Book, Reading Lists, Ally Condie, Book Reviews
Great young adult series. It is a mix of the Giver and The Hunger Games.
Government arranged marriages that (of course) the main character will rebel against (even though her chosen boy is her best friend). This book is about choices and being stuck in a world beyond your control. Hope seems to lie in a movement for rebellion but the main character hesitates to join. Could it be an alternate government with even less freedom? How do you really know who to trust and who is watching what you do? A book worth reading for the answers. Look into the sequel as well...
While very similar to the Hunger Games (in more ways than one), Matched proves to be a contender for one of the best dystopian society YA books. Condie creates a terrifyingly realistic dystopian society and we as readers watch as seeds of rebellion are planted throughout its population. Matched, and the sequels that follow, are worth reading.
Matched by Ally Condie This is a good book. Malena really liked all of them :-)
Satisfying My Curiosity: Book Review: Matched by Ally Condie http://satisfyingmycuriousity.blogspot.com/2012/12/book-review-matched-by-ally-condie.html
Matched is a young adult novel written by Ally Condie about a dystopian society. It is the first book in the Matched trilogy.
Matched-by Ally Condie, for anyone who likes Dystopians, love triangles, and appreciates art. I'll have to put this on my reading list...

Yes. Now- I'm always about 365 days behind everyone else in the reading world, simply because I boycott popular books for as long as I can stand to: like, say, Emily Giffin novels... can't possibly be any good if that many of my girlfriends actually read them! But The Help, my dears, is worth reading. I didn't want it to end! Now that's the sign of a truly good book... and well-written too! GAsp!

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins books worth reading
The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mocking Jay by Suzanne Collins: The best book series I've read since Harry Potter. They are all very violent, but amazingly written with a very thought inspiring plot. A lot of discussion could come from these books. I'm very excited about the movie! Collins also has a children's series, Gregor the Overlander. I actually read this series first and didn't even realized it was the same author until I finished The Hunger Games series. I recommend this series!!
THe hunger games books - The Hunger Games trilogy is a series of young adult science fiction adventure novels by Suzanne Collins. The trilogy consists of The Hunger Games (2008), Catching Fire (2009), and Mockingjay (2010).
To kill a mocking bird
Book Lists, All Tim Favorite, Atticus Finch, Favorite Book, Classic Books, Good Books, Time Favorite, High Schools, Harpers Lee
One of my all time favorites (book and movie). To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was instantly successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature. The plot and characters are loosely based on the author's observations of her family and neighbors, as well as on an event that occurred near her hometown in 1936, when she was 10 years old.
To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. On ALA's top challenged book list: 2009 (#4). 2011 (#10). Reasons: offensive language, racism, unsuited to age group.
40 classic books You should have read in high school
Really good book written by Harper Lee
One of the assignments in high school that became one of my favorite books - and Gregory Peck IS Atticus Finch.
My favorite book of all time. First-time author Harper Lee won a Pulitzer, and Gregory Peck personified Atticus Finch in the movie adaptation.

The Book Thief - Markus Zusak Great Book Club choice
The Book Thief: Markus Zusak is the 2014 Margaret A. Edwards Award for lifetime achievement in writing for young adults
The Book Thief: Markus Zusak My very favorite book this year! I listened to it on Audible and the narration was superb. Great book about WW2 for teens too.
The Book Thief - Markus Zusak - Google Books - I'm reading this now and this is definitely a book worth reading.
The extraordinary #1 New York Times bestseller that is now a major motion picture, Markus Zusak's unforgettable story is about the ability of books to feed the soul. It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still. Liesel Meminger is a foster girl living outside of Munich, who scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. #ReviewBook #TheBookThief #MarkusZusak
Great mash of history and vampires!
