Rhetorical & Logical Fallacies

  • PlantyHamchuk

I think they left out the naturalistic fallacy - because it is natural, it must be good. You see this with a lot of new age / herbal / supplements who rely on such claims instead of scientific evidence.

Whoever would have thought I would be a hippie??????????????

Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to 9 months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked.

Note: Things in this photo have changed and I would delete it because it misrepresents what President Obama has done. However, I will leave it up because of the comments. But know, that if you comment, that I am aware that this is no longer true.

I've been scrolling thru the comments... forming my own opinion. I just need to say Scott Minter. You are awesome. Very respectful towards the hateful/defensive comments. That is a hard thing to do ha. But I'm just happy to notice someone not trying to start a fight but to have a legit discussion... we don't have enough of those. I support Ron Paul 100%. If people would just take the time to research themselves rather than go off of these "stupid liberals" then I know a lot of people would think differently about him. AND I just wanted to say thank you for keeping the post up to show that Obama is a flip-flopper haha. Very nice. Stay strong my friend a REVOLUTION IS COMING! RON PAUL 2012

and as beautiful as Marilyn was, she was still plagued by insecurity, drug abuse, destructive relationships and bad choices. Women need role models who are examples of much more than a dress size.

The full context of this quote-- "We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing its end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood. . . . It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless." -Abraham Lincoln, in a letter to Col. William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864

The corporations to fear are not the ones we're so well aware of (as seen in the image). But powerful and interesting image & quote.

Now China wants to have a telecommunications company in the US. Think about all the things that China rips off from so many companies. What would they rip off with a Telecom company in the US? The possibilities are awesome.

Jeri Lynn - you are missing the point completely. The clown suit is directed at the fools who are pointing the missiles. That they are using their weapons in a foolish way. Apparently, it's too deep for someone of your minimal intellect to comprehend. Sorry. Try watching Jersey Shore. That seems a little more your speed.

    Maybe it is that simple!

  • Jill Bowman

    It's SO not that simple...

  • Brenda Ramirez

No It is not that simple.... I graduated high school (not pregnant) ,went to school, got a simple career (nothing fancy but pays the bills). I pay 750.00 in insurance for my two children and I, I pay 800.00 a month for day care (Children's Courtyard- not a Montessori) My husband and I would love to have another child but we cant afford it ! I had to pay a $2000.00 deductible when I gave birth to my little girl. Yet you have all these welfare moms that pop out kids like crazy and not have to pay a dime for it. You and I do it for them. can some one please tell me how this is fair ? I am totally for helping the disabled (physically and mentally) but if your ass can drink, do drugs , have sex and make babies then your ass can also get a job ... "Oh but there are no jobs" Then Volunteer... If your kid gets free lunch at school then you should be the one volunteering at school, cleaning, cross guards, ect. ect. When is this going to end ?

Except that many people on welfare do have jobs, welfare does not mean no job, it just means below poverty level. Sometimes, yes people are on unemployment, whathave you...but I have several friends on medicaid and foodstamps who work their asses off to make minimum wage and pay for childcare.

And the Libertarians object to both. P.S., objecting to tax dollars doing it does not mean that you object to the thing being done.
