Paper Cranes for Japan, a campaign of Students Rebuild, challenged young people worldwide to make and mail in a paper crane following the devastating Sendai earthquake and tsunami. Over 2 million cranes, paired with wishes of hope and healing, were received from 38 countries and all 50 states, generating $500,000 in funding for reconstruction. Inspired by the outpouring of support from across the globe, celebrated artist Vik Muniz created a magnificent piece, titled "Large Paper Crane," with thousands of the cranes in his Brooklyn studio. Vik’s creation is beautifully captured in the New York Times Sunday Magazine photo essay and for sale as a benefit poster to aid long term recovery and reconstruction. A 40 x 50"poster is now for sale for #30 including s/h. #Paper_Cranes_for_Japan #Vik_Muniz #Students_Rebuild_ Paper_ Cranes_for_Japan
