A Springfield school destined for the wrecking ball and a Jacksonville school that will close in June are among sites listed by Landmarks Illinois as among the state’s “Ten Most Endangered Historic Places” for 2012. The annual list, which also includes the 162-year-old Marbold Farmstead near Greenview, was announced Tuesday (4/24/12) in Springfield. My M.A. project with ursuline academy gets noted in the sideline of other buildings on the list. Yay!!

Only Lutherans could get 30 years out of temporary buildings, joked Mark Gerberding about the classroom trailers Springfield’s Lutheran High School still employs.
