June 25, 2011: Riding through Tok, AK one afternoon, I spotted this old Kenworth pulling out of the parking lot of Fast Eddy's restaurant. Recognizing it as an historic vehicle, I asked the driver for some details. This is what I got from him, and some internet research: This is one of the two, specially built Kenworths LTI purchased in 1954 to begin trucking over the Alcan Highway. The first load was 36,000 lbs of swinging beef, delivered to the Carrs store in Fairbanks. This tractor had
