* For us Southern girls who grew up being told to NEVER EVER wash your cast irons with soap! Scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry.

Homemade OxyClean-Big $$ saver! Homemade OxyClean 1 cup water 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide 1/2 cup baking soda Mix together and soak laundry in it for 20 minutes to overnight and then wash as usual. Or you can just skip the water and pour the peroxide and baking soda directly into the wash with your laundry soap and wash as usual.

Pinning so I will DO this....The "miracle" of baking soda and peroxide. Put 1/4 cup of baking soda in a bowl.....add enough peroxide to make a paste. Rub on with fingers or sponge. Cleans EVERYTHING! Stove, oven, pans, stainless steel applicances, even the white handles of the refrig door. @Marcie Crow... Here you go!
