    Dorothy Gibson - Model and actress who survived the Titanic. After arriving in NY on the rescue ship Carpathia, Gibson was convinced by her manager to appear in a film based on the sinking. She not only starred in the one-reel drama, but wrote the scenario and even appeared in the very same clothing she had worn aboard the Titanic that night - a white silk evening dress topped with a cardigan and polo coat.

    Trunk Recovered from Titanic The crew of the Mackay Bennett recovered this travel trunk from the Titanic's floating debris. In time the trunk found its way the the home of a New Brunswick minister. As oral history relates, this minister knew one of the clergy men on board the Mackay Bennett who was saying prayers over the recovered Titanic victims. This item is available for viewing at the Audio Video Showroom in Santa Rosa, CA.

SIGURD HANSEN MOEN, 25,from Bergen,Norway was travelling w/his brother-in-law Olaus Abelseth+Abelseth's cousin Peter Søholt,Karen Marie Abelseth,Anna Salkjelsvik+Adolf Humblen.The group boarded the Titanic at Southampton.Moen's eventual destination was to be Minneapolis,MN,USA.Moen lost his life in the disaster.His body later recovered (#309)+on May 9,1912 was forwarded to New York to be returned to Norway by the Scandinavian American Line.

    The Titanic, an icon of Edwardian luxury, was traveling from England to New York when it struck an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912. It sank at 2:20 a.m. on April 15 south of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, with the loss of more than 1,500 of the 2,208 passengers and crew. Halifax is the final resting place for 150 of the ship's victims.

    Titanic survivor Philip Zenni. boarded the Titanic from France as a third class passenger. The rooms for third class passengers were located very close to the bottom of the boat. Zenni somehow managed to make his way up and sneak onto a lifeboat after repeatedly being told they were saving the women and children first. Zenni toured around Ohio retelling stories of his time on the Titanic. These tours led him to be known as “Mr. Titanic.”

    Millvina Dean was the oldest passenger to live after Titanic sank. She died when she was 97. The ironic thing is that she was the youngest passenger onboard Titanic.She was only 9-weeks-old.
