Jarlshof, Shetland Mainland, discovered at the end of the 19th century, when a heavy storm ripped open a part of the coast, exposing buildings from the Iron Age. Some of the oldest houses found at Jarlshof are from 2500-1500 BC. Two of the Jarlshof houses, ca. 500 BC-79AD, have souterrains, underground tunnels with small rooms. Also inhabited by the Picts and later on by Vikings, and both left plenty of evidence of their presence.

Skellig Michael, Skellig Islands, Ireland - A Christian monastery was founded on the island at some point between the 6th and 8th century, and was continuously occupied until its abandonment in the late 12th century. The remains of this monastery, along with most of the island itself, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1996. The steps up to the monastery are rocky, steep, and old.
The stone stairway of Skellig Michael, on the remote island of Skellig, eight miles from the coast of County Kerry, Ireland. The known history of Skellig Michael begins when a monastery was founded near the summit in the middle of the 7th century. Consisting of distinctive 'beehive' stone huts clustered around an oratory and a tiny vegetable garden, this was truly a place of solitude for the few monks who lived here, only accessible by climbing 600 stone steps up the cliff.

Mohenjo-daro Mohenjo-daro, or “Mound of the Dead” is thought to be similarly built to Harappa as all Indus cities possessed a common design reflecting Vedic, organized thought. It can also be prided in being the first city in the world to have a full-fledged draining system. A vast draining system for a whole city was invented in the land of the Indus.

Social life in Harappa civilization was very organized. There were three different social groups during Indus Valley Civilization. The first group was of high class traders and priests. The second group was comprised of craftsmen, artists, and petty merchants. And the third group consisted of labourer class. Harappa people had barely and wheat as their staple food.
Mohenjo-daro, along with the other major city of Harappa and a host of other sites in Pakistan and northern India, represent an entire Early Bronze Age civilization on a par with those of contemporary Egypt and Mesopotamia.

Naveta des Tudons, Spain - 10 oldest buildings in the world
The Naveta d'Es Tudons, or Naveta of Es Tudons (in Menorquí, naveta, or naueta, a diminutive form of nau, means nave, and Es Tudons, lit. the woodpigeons, is the name of the place), is the most remarkable megalithic chamber tomb in the Balearic island of Minorca, Spain. It is located in the Western part of the island, on the Ciutadella de Menorca-Mahón road, approximately 3 miles out from Ciutadella, and 200 m south of the road. It stands on slightly rising ground in a sloping valley.
