Different kinds of tears -- from an onion, of ending and beginning, laughter, etc.
Emotional States, Human Tear, Timeless Reunions, Angel Bas, Tear Tear, Facts, Fine Art, Macros Photography, Rose Lynn Fisher
Basal tears © Rose-Lynn Fisher 2013 Other kinds of tears: Tears of change Tears of elation at a liminal moment Tears of ending and beginning Tears of grief Tears from laughing until crying Tears from onions Tears of possibility and hope Tears of release Tears of remembrance Tears of timeless reunion. The Topography of Tears The Topography of Tears is a study of 100 tears photographed through a standard light microscope. The project began in a period of personal change, loss, and copious tears.
The Topography of Tears-- This remarkable series of slides (that look much more like fine art) demonstrate the startling fact that when you cry for different reasons, those tears have distinct chemical differences as well. Isn't it fascinating that our bodies are tied to our emotions on such an elementary level?

Frozen Bubbles This is what happens when you blow bubbles in freezing cold temperatures. When Washington-based photographer, Angela Kelly, decided to blow soap bubbles with her 7-year old son she didn’t know exactly what would happen. The results were more stunning than she ever imagined.

Lake Michigan lighthouse on January / 04 / 2014. We feel for you in Atlanta and all of our fellow citizens in the south. We hope you have winter coats, boots and gloves. You probably rarely need them, however, this is definitely an exception to our average winter weather. My relatives in South Carolina are hibernating as much as possible. Our best hopes for everyone. It's 35 degrees in Orlando this morning!
St. Joseph Lighthouse, St. Joseph, Michigan. Ice formed on the lighthouse and catwalk during a winter storm that churned up Lake Michigan and created 20 foot waves. The ice apparently broke the “hand rail” cables on the catwalk, causing them to droop down with tons of ice. Photo by Tom Gill.

Frozen Lighthouses: Photographer Tom Gill Highlights Lake Michigan's Lighthouses In Winter (PHOTOS)
Ice Drapery by Tom Gill., via Flickr Located on Lake Michigan is the St. Joseph North Pier (google maps), which features two lighthouses (‘Outer’ and ‘Inner’) that were both built over a century ago. When the wind picks up during Michigan’s frosty winter months, large waves crash upon the pier and lighthouses, creating beautiful ice formations only nature is capable of.

Here's a mind-blowing look at Krubera Cave, the world's deepest cave. This natural wonder "plunges 7,188 feet (2,191 m) into the depths of the Arabika Massif, a limestone formation dating back to the Age of Dinosaurs." I've rappelled into a cave before but not one THIS deep!! WoW!

Thriving since 1960, my garden in a bottle: Seedling sealed in its own ecosystem and watered just once in 53 years David Latimer first planted his bottle garden in 1960 and last watered it in 1972 before tightly sealing it shut 'as an experiment' The hardy spiderworts plant inside has grown to fill the 10-gallon container by surviving entirely on recycled air, nutrients and water. Wow!!!!

Just Bottle It and Forget It! That’s exactly what a man in the UK did. 53 years ago he put a seedling in a giant glass bottle, watered it once and has not touched it since. It now fills the entire bottle and continues to thrive. Creating it’s own ecosystem, all the plant needs is light. What the what?!!?
Article: 50 Year old Bottle Garden: Still going strong ~`*`~ Pictured is pensioner David Latimer (from Cranleigh, Surrey) with a bottle garden that planted 53 years ago. He watered it once - in 1972 - and the bottle has remained sealed ever since. The plant has succeeded in creating it's own miniature ecosystem, and has thrived without any outside intervention for over 50 years.
David Latimer from Cranleigh, Surrey, with his bottle garden that was first planted 53 years ago and has not been watered since 1972 - yet continues to thrive in its sealed environment. The bottle garden has created its own miniature ecosystem. Despite being cut off from the outside world, because it is still absorbing light it can photosynthesise, the process by which plants convert sunlight into the energy they need to grow. The ultimate terrarium!
David Latimer with his bottle garden planted 53 years ago has not been watered since 1972 - yet continues to thrive in its sealed environment. For 40 years it has been completely sealed from the outside world. But the indoor variety of spiderworts within has thrived, filling its globular bottle home with healthy foliage. The bottle garden has created its own miniature ecosystem. because it is still absorbing light it ca photosynthesise.

Pony tail palm tree
Beautiful old flowering tree.
Grows in full sun to light shade. It is very slow-growing and drought-tolerant. Native to eastern Mexico. The Ponytail Palm Tree Oddly enough, a ponytail palm tree is neither a palm nor a tree. In fact, it is a member of the Agave family and is actually a succulent. Other common names for this plant include bottle palm tree or elephant foot tree. In the past, it has been classified as either Nolina recurvata or Beaucarnea recurvata, but the latter is now the correct classification of this plant.
The Beautiful Ponytail Palm in Full Bloom | It is hardy to -5 °C (23 °F), and grows in full sun to light shade. It is very slow-growing and drought-tolerant. Native to eastern Mexico.

Repin from Jessica- This outdoor elevator probably made access to the cliff a lot more efficient that the previous mechanism to reach the top. A lot of today's architecture would not be possible to be functional without the use of the elevator because the time it would take to get up would not be cost effective to the work that could be done during that time, so urban sprawl would have plateau'd literally and there would be no towers and more spread.
Highest Outdoor Elevator in the World, Hundred Dragons Elevator. Bailong Elevator, also known as the Hundred Dragons Elevator, is a glass elevator built into the side of a rocky mountain range full of thousands of sandstone columns that rise up thousands of feet in the Wulingyuan area of Zhangijiajie, Hunan Province.
