"HJackman_Week 43 - Theme: "Brown" Autumns Bounty" ~ Photo by sumoetx: These are acorns and leaves collected during last weeks hike to Rocky Mouth Canyon waterfall in Utah. They make me think of autumn.
"A dark little glen floored with moss and dark, slippery stones. The autumn leaves were piled in yellow drifts, still clinging to branches in places, bright little flags of color. Slanted bars of sunlight fell through the branches." ~Rosewood
An acorn is the fruit of an oak tree (a sacred tree to many different cultures), which is a symbol of security abundance. An acorn carried on one’s person brings luck, preserves youthfulness and counteracts illness pain. Acorns can increase fertility in the mind (ideas, creativity, etc.) or the body. Acorns are often a talisman (a charm to avert evil and bring good luck) against lighting, especially when kept on a windowsill. That's why window blind pulls were often shaped like acorns.
