I love style of Dresser, it’s elegant, yet not overstated. There was definitely a lot of work to achieve the look I envisioned. Here you can see that there’s a few pieces missing. I will fill them in. The best way to remove stubborn veneer is to use a heat gun. It should work and make it easier to peel off. Here I am removing more of the veneer, it actually came off pretty well, it didn’t take too long. It’s looking good! The wood is nice underneath. I removed all of the h…
I absolutely love how this turned out. It’s just lovely! Thank you to my husband for making it! First we measured 6 18” planks from a pallet using a circular saw. We cut a 28” piece long enough for the numbers. Make sure to measure and cut precisely. Cut and put aside. Next, we cut the sides to create a box. The sides are 5” each. The front and bottom will be the same size. Once cut, put aside. Using a nail gun, use 1 1/2 “ nails to put the box together.…
I’m not really a fan of these pieces, but when I saw this one, I could see potential in this piece. I loved how it has a lot of knobs. It’s a little deceiving , it looks like it has lots of little drawers, but there’s only seven. I wanted it to have a natural look so I decided to remove the paint. It was quite a challenge. First I removed the knobs using a drill as there are so many. Its so much faster. I used acetone to remove the paint faster. It removed quite a bit, but…
I’m always trying to use up the rest of my candles that can no longer light by using a candle warmer, but this time I tried something different These are the sweetest little hearts. 💕 It’s so very simple. All you have to do is fill a pot with water less than halfway, sit the candle that you’re using in the water. Put it on medium heat, then turn to low, do not bring to boil. Just keep checking until it melts all the way. I bought a couple of molds. This one is very small so you…
I absolutely love this dresser and I think this is the best color choice for it. It’s definitely one of my favorite colors. This piece actually had a top to it, but it was missing a lot of shelves, so I decided to not to use it. The door was off, but luckily the hinges were still with it. The top drawers on either side we’re missing the hardware so I decided to do something different as I could not find the same hardware and the same size This piece had this pull out board, wh…
Sometimes you don’t actually see all the faults with a piece of furniture until you get home. I thought with a light sand this would actually come off and I also thought if I keep sanding, I could make this piece natural without painting it. I tried really hard to remove all of these stains and marks so that I can prep it for a natural look, but in actuality, it was very hard to do. I could definitely see this piece like a pickled white, but I could also see it in a gorgeous…

This is definitely my favorite style. This piece is perfect for a dining room/tv console or sofa table. It’s got a good amount of storage. Here are some steps to take if you’re planning on painting a piece of furniture . It’s definitely beautiful as is, but there’s a few superficial scratches on it and knobs missing. I started by removing the hardware and cleaning the whole piece with Krud cutter. I could have removed these plates, but I decided to paint over them and then…
Sometimes you just have to add a little elbow grease to get the perfect results! I found this beauty at our local thrift store and loved it straight away! I don’t usually do pieces that are painted, but I thought this one was going to be worth it The knobs were definitely a plus! The color is a light gray. It was very stubborn to remove. I tried sanding it off, but it just wouldn’t budge. I used a paint stripper. I left it on for about an hour. After about an hour I scrape…
I’m loving this gorgeous little number, it’s amazing how some of these pieces are still around, but they definitely need some help. These pieces typically have a wood veneer over them, but unfortunately a lot of them are damaged, but they’re usually fixable. This piece has different colored veneer, which is really nice, but I’m going to sand, fill and paint it due to the damage. Once wiped down I removed the hardware. I like to use simple green, it has a nice smell and cleans…
I love Empire style furniture. It just has somewhat of an elegant yet casual look about it. This piece was chipped all over the veneer was coming off the top so we decided to take the whole veneer from the top and all of the drawers They looked a little rough It definitely has seen better days I sanded the whole top at first, but then decided I didn’t want to try to fill in all of the edges so I removed the top veneer completely. My husband helped me remove the veneer with a…
I love pottery, I’m trying to fill my vintage cabinet full of it, but it can get expensive. So I decided to get creative and make my own. I took some coffee grains that I used already. This will create the roughness on the vase. Add the coffee grains to your choice of paint color and mix and gradually until you are happy with the consistency. It should be quite thick. Once thoroughly mixed, it should look similar to this. Using your brush of choice, start to paint the mixtur…
I’ve been looking all over for what I wanted, but it’s so expensive and I didn’t want to spend that much for an island. I wanted a specific size so doing it herself was the best idea. We paid around $60 for everything. I’m so happy with how it turned out. To check out how we made this island, follow the steps below . We found this table at Goodwill for $5.99. We only bought it for the legs. We purchased three planks of wood at Home Depot, which were 2 x 8 x 10 $14 each My husba…
I kept going back to see if this piece was still there, it was a little pricey, but eventually the price went down a little and I bought it. It’s one of my favorite styles. I wasn’t sure what color to do it at first, but I could see it being country chic. This was a nice surprise finding the drawers behind the doors. First, I removed all of the hardware. I used this cleaner to remove The dirt and residue. You can find it most places, but I bought mine on @Amazon I use…
