1600-1625 British embroidered jacket. Wilk embroidery on Linene ground. V Museum number 212-1873. Embroidered jackets were popular items of dress for women in the early 17th century. This very simple unlined example represents an informal style. Unlike more fitted versions, this loose, unshaped jacket may have been worn during pregnancy.

"Day-After" Morning Suit in Two Pieces: ca. 1778, Danish, embroidered and quilted silk. Probably belonged to Marie Dorothea Cortsen who married the pastor Nicolai Clausen in Aalborg in 1778.
