I tacked fake grass carpet to the bulletin board. I tied lengths of raffia grass with small pieces of raffia grass. I formed and stapled the letters as I went along, and I was pleased with the natural look of the letters.

I painted this as an example to my students about how to use acrylic on bark. Fairies are only mentioned in The Hobbit, but we created several on bark.
My student created Gandalf. It think it portrays his wisdom and longevity.
It is hard to see the beauty of this piece. It is painted on a piece of curved bark and gives a 3/D image to the spiders.
One student painted Bilbo, and he did an excellent job.
