[Too much information to retain!] Life Hacks | Uncommon uses for common household items: toothpaste, rubber bands, nail polish, tape, hair dryer, hand lotion, cornstarch, petroleum jelly, coffee filters, salt, disposable cups, vinegar, wax paper, zip-top bags, chalk. (There are a million of these types of pins, but this is the first one I actually found useful.)
ONLY use this and it leaves floor spotless. (Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe: ¼ cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap ¼ cup baking soda 2 gallons tap water, very warm.) It leaves everything smelling amazing.
Winter sore throat "tea"- In a jar combine lemon slices, organic honey and sliced ginger. Close jar and put it in the fridge, it will form into a "jelly". To serve- spoon jelly into mug and pour boiling water over it. Store in fridge 2-3 months
One pinner says: Best home made body wash recipe Ive found. (Its suppose to be ideal for Eczema) Update 3/15/12: I just finished making my first batch I absolutely love it. It smells really great ( I used a lavender essential oil) after washing my hands with it I quickly noticed how clean, soft smooth they felt. I cant wait to try it on my sons eczema prone skin. I am going to have to make this my body wash as well.
Unblock your drains without pouring harmful pollutants into the water system by pouring down 1 c of salt and 1/2 c of baking soda mixed together, followed by a kettle of boiling water. Can also use baking soda and white vinegar and boiling water. -- good to know
Homemade cleaner. *Works like a charm & smells great too* take the empty bottle of your favorite cleaner. Don't worry about emptying it out. Add 2/3 cup of your favorite fabric softner, 1/3 cup baking soda, 1/3 cup of vinegar, & fill remainder up with hot or warm water. Advil Liqui-Gels = Zit Zapper: Another pinner says.....I hear makeup artists use this all the time on models backstage at fashion shows, says beauty guru Robin Coe-Hutshing. Open up an Advil gel cap and apply it right onto the pimple. It takes the swelling down right away. tried this the other day and it works like a charm.
kill mold!!!Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil per 1 cup of water. Spray onto the surface with mold and allow to dry, do not rinse. This will kill the mold spores without creating harsh chemical fumes as other cleaners, such as bleach, would.
