Art, 1876, Gustave Caillebotte, Parquet, Painting
Les Raboteurs de Parquet by Gustave Caillebotte. . . Musee d'Orsay. . .The photo does not do it justice. One of the best paintings I've ever seen. His control of the light in this piece is pure genius.
(one of my all-time faves) "Les raboteurs de parquet" 1876 Gustave Caillebotte (19 August 1848 – 21 February 1894)
Gustave Caillebotte - The Floor Scrapers (1875-6) "Despite the effort Caillebotte put into the paintings, it was rejected by France’s most prestigious art exhibition, The Salon, in 1875. The depiction of working-class people in their trade, not fully clothed, shocked the jurors and was deemed a ‘vulgar subject matter.’ The images of the floor scrapers came to be associated with Degas’s paintings of washerwomen, also presented at the same exhibition and similarly scorned as ‘vulgar’”.
A second, different version of Gustave Caillebotte, "Les raboteurs de parquet" of 1876

Boulevard des Capucines is an oil on canvas street scene painting of Boulevard des Capucines by French Impressionist artist Claude Monet created in 1873. Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City
So often I have stood, admiring this, one of my favorite Monet paintings anywhere. Often awestruck, and in part because it is in my 'hometown' museum, the Nelson-Atkins in Kansas City. Boulevard des Capucines is an oil-on-canvas street scene painting of Boulevard des Capucines by French Impressionist artist Claude Monet created in 1873.

"Boulevard des Capucines" -- 1873-74 -- Claude Monet -- French -- Oil on canvas -- Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Oil on Canvas I love the scenery in this painting and I like how the trees are centered in the people. I also like the depth it gives to the piece and how the people aren't very detailed

The little details in the dress and the facial expression of the ballerina as well as her muscles and posture are really appealing. It would be great for someone who likes art, sensitive, emotional or needs an inspiring piece of art. It is very classical.

Four Dancers c. 1899 (150 Kb); Oil on canvas, 151.1 x 180.2 cm (59 1/2 x 71 in); National Gallery of Art, Washington
Edgar Degas, French, 'Four Dancers,' c. 1899, oil on canvas, National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. Degas studied his preferred subject, ballet performers, in hundreds of works. Four Dancers, one of the largest and most ambitious of his late works, exists in several variants that show different kinds and degrees of modification. While Degas suppressed descriptive detail elsewhere in the painting, emphatic dark lines shape the heads and arms, underlining the artist's formal concerns.
