Fahrenheit 451: A Novel by Ray Bradbury, www.amazon.com/...
Worth Reading, Books Week, Fahrenheit 451, Books Worth, Middle Schools English, Books Title, Seventh Grade, High Schools, Ray Bradburi
Like everything that Ray Bradbury ever wrote, this is elegant and incredibly thoughtful. First printed in 1953, it is eerily relevant to the present day and the way our society functions. The book was banned in 2006 in TX where it was assigned reading for high school sophomores. Language, Bible burning, depictions of Christians and Firemen were among the complaints. It is worth noting here that the whole plot surrounds the idea of mass book burnings and thus, censorship.

This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It takes place during the Civil War. Jacob is a union army spy. He is ordered to murder his uncle, and then marry a confederate spy. It turns into a love story that you will never forget. It is one of those books that you just don't want to put down. Loved it!
All Other Nights by Dara Horn. A very well-written tale of the American Civil War from the perspective of Jewish characters in the North and South. Love, spies, murder, history, Biblical references -- this novel has it all.

Peace Like a River
Worth Reading, Amazons With, Books Club, Leif Enger, Books Worth, Peace, Rivers T-Shirt, Movie, Favorite Books
So worth reading.
Great book, can't wait to see the movie! "You don't see novels like this one very often. Peace Like a River reminds a reader of Kent Haruf's Plainsong or even Norman Maclean's A River Runs Through It. It's got that pure American loss of innocence theme, that belief in and fascination with miracles, that insistence on the goodness of men outside of the law." —Susan Salter Reynolds, Los Angeles Times Book Review
Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. One of my favorite books, if not my favorite.
Peace Like A River by Leif Enger. Read it for Book Club, good read.

One of my favorite Potok books!
Worth Reading, Chaim Potok, Asher Lev, Asherlev, Books Club, Books Worth, Names, Favorite Books, High Schools
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok - This is one of my favorite books by Chaim Potok. I always learn so much about the orthodox Jewish culture when I read his stories. This book deals with a boy who struggles with his faith and his parents while trying to be true to himself. When I was younger, I related to Asher; now I relate to his parents.
My Name Is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok was an amazing read. I was introduced to two worlds and really related to the main character through his family relationships. This was an interesting story about sometimes choosing (or accepting) the hard way when coming of age. [Book club book for October]

Wonderful classic book. Had to read it in high school, and re-read it in college. Leo Tolstoy writes with such detail, you pick up on new things each read!
Ana Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Anna Karenina- Tolstoy ...it's my favorite novel. Super long (968 pages), but so rich! Great book club read. i'd love to discuss the characters (who they are, how they think, tolstoy's drawn out character development) in a group.
Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina. It's worth reading it all the way through...
