Peach and Banana Smoothie Continuing our month long obsession with all things peach, today we present this rich, creamy, velvety, decadent...oh, wait...it only tastes like it's those things. In reality, it's skinny, healthy and amazingly refreshing. Made with fresh fruit, fat free yogurt and low fat milk, this smoothie is a serious energy boost and vitamin powerhouse.
These peach smoothies bring back so many great memories! One of my bestest friends growing up, her mom used to make us these smoothies every day that we would play over there in the summertime! They had a few peach trees in there backyard, that I swear would produce some of the best peaches I have ever had. These peaches were so good that all she would do was blend a couple of peaches and some milk in the blender and we were set!
Peaches anyone? :) Ahm . . . (assume the Julia Child voice you know so well . . . and if you don’t, well, you need to get acquainted with her awesomeness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OP08hW602U=fvwrel)
Next time, I think I’d omit the yogurt in favor of a banana (not a big fan of yogurt’s tanginess in smoothies) and add an extra carrot for sweetness (this wasn’t unsweet, which is why I didn’t add agave nectar, but I figure an extra carrot for sweetness is still a sneaky way of getting more…carrot. Also, I know it seems odd that carrot adds more sweetness than the fruit, but it does).
