Congratulations to the designers, coordinators and consultants of Garden Sense, a water conservation program of the UCCE Sonoma Master Gardener Program, for winning the 1st place award in the "community service" category at the International Master Gardener conference.
Garden Sense | UC Agriculture and Natural Resources
Sonoma County Master Gardeners have partnered with the Sonoma County Water Agency on a new project called GardenSense. A free on-site consultation by a pair of GardenSense Consultants will demonstrate to residents how to easily conserve water (and save money) by creating a climate-appropriate garden that is healthy, environmentally sound, and most of all – beautiful!
Tarragon
Unlike many woody herbs, TARRAGON, is winter-dormant and is grown as an annual in most parts of Sonoma County. This is best transplanted. Look for “French Tarragon” for the preferred culinary variety. Fresh sprigs of tarragon can be used to infuse oil or white vinegar. Fresh chopped leaves added to butter is a tasty savory spread. Don't miss out of this sensational culinary herb!
