As a result of their self-defense, the women are convicted in the courts and ridiculed by media. The film reveals how race, gender identity and sexuality are used to criminalize these women of color.
#Freetownmovie - Faith is a subject that resonates with Batty, a graduate of Brigham Young University who grew up in a spiritual household reading letters from missionaries who, like those in the film, shared his Mormon faith. I'm probably the wrong person to be reviewing the latest Liam Neeson actioner, having observed Neeson's ascent to action stardom at a distance and with some skepticism. To me, Neeson will always be Oskar Schindler or some prestigious variant, a habitual player in period pieces lauded by critics and reluctantly consumed by audiences, the cinematic equivalent of the Brussels sprout.
