The Tempietto

The Tempietto ("little temple") is a small circular building built by Donato Bramante, circa 1502, in the courtyard of San Pietro in Montorio in Rome. It is considered a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, with perfect proportions. It is composed of slender Tuscan columns, a Doric entablature, and a graceful dome. It's a little jewel that is well worth the trip!
