Den: Vintage wrought-iron chairs, rusted metal side tables, and brown cushions make this space invitingly casual and play off the deep brown fence behind. A purple hop bush provides hits of red and orange. Raised a few inches above the dining area, the den’s floor is covered with pea gravel. A potted bougainvillea beside the garden shed adds vibrant magenta to this “room.”
Raised bed/planter/fence/privacy screen - this is a conglomeration of several items I saw in magazines and catalogs. I plan on building lots of these to use as planters. Add a lid for storage, composting, extra seating. Or a sloped cold frame lid to garden in cooler weather. This one is 64" high, but I plan on making some at 48" and 32" too. I used 1x4x8 cedar boards and deck screws. I'll probably add some hooks and shelves too - the possibilities seem endless!
