Place a stencil or easily removed tape on your paper. Combine food coloring and water. Use a straw and drop a drop on the paper then blow it to create streaks. Have fun! Then remove the stencil when it has dried.
This project takes a day to paint the background with free-form shapes and brilliant colors, then to dry. On day 2, take 10-15 minutes to "blow" the ink into spider-y stems across our papers. (Yes, water-soluble liquid black ink, not paint).
Blowing Trees: Paint the background first and let dry. Use a straw to blow brown paint around the paper to create the trunk and branches. Then use a Qtip to dot on random flower and leaf buds. Click link for more detailed instructions :)
