100 Books to Read in Kindergarten - Woodbridge Library. For Allie this will be 100 Books to read BEFORE kindergarten :)

Haunting, but one of my favorite books. It was my first book club book. I was living in Chicago and joined a club through church. Both the book and club were a hit for me.

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini. Story of a boy Amir, from Afghanistan who needs to find his way in the world as he realizes that his own belief system is not that of his dominant culture. Set in Afghanistan and the United States.

I didn't like this one as much as Kite Runner, but the second time I read it, I appreciated it much more.

A thousand splendid suns # Khaled Hosseini Same author as the kite runner. Can recommend it

The ending felt forced, but overall it was a poignant and moving story.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. An awesome insight into the lives of those Japanese Americans affected by World War II Internment Camps. My husband's grandfather and his family suffered the injustice of this as well.

For Dec book club.

I couldn't put the series down. I found it disturbing that young teens are reading such violent books, but I hear that's par for the course these days...

Classic. Anne's incessant prattle wore me out, but I loved her none the less.

Anne of Green Gables by L. Montgomery "This is the first of the classic and much loved Anne of Green Gables series, where the lively imaginative red-haired orphan arrives at Green Gables and captures the hearts of everyone she meets.
