Inside the Tesoro shareholder meeting on Thursday, May 3, USW members attempted to raise questions about Tesoro’s labor relations practices and refinery safety after seven of their co-workers died as a result of an explosion and fire at the Anacortes refinery on Good Friday April 2, 2010. Three months after USW members lost seven co-workers due to the April 2, 2010 Good Friday explosion and fire at the Anacortes refinery, Tesoro announced it was cutting or eliminating benefits unilaterally so the company could repair the facility and honor an executive contract.
