Peel me a grape, sweetie, I am hot and bothered. There's something about this girl at Pearson that makes me sweat, and how! Oh, the exotic lines of this 215 Ottoman! Totally Topkapi terrific! Comes as a square bench, too. But who wants to be square, n'est-ce pas? Pearson, 200 North Hamilton #hpmkt
Booze truly makes the world go around and makes me deliriously happy. So could there be a more important piece of furniture in your home than a bar? And, no, that was not a question. In these troubled times as we go down the economic road to Greece, liquor is all that more important, n'est-ce pas? Here, the fabulous Butler Table from the Lexicon collection at Baker Furniture. This bar folds up and stores in the closet and then unfolds into a totally delicious delight. Baker Furniture, #hpmkt
The last time I visited New Orleans I was completely soused every night on Sazeracs, that fabulous rye-and-bitters cocktails native to the Big Easy. So, naturally, I am just a crazy monkey for the Sazerac Bar/Secretary from Drexel Heritage's Vintage Originals collection. A gorgeous silhouette and divine star-kissed hardware. I wanted to rub its nobs. Oh, that sounds dirty. And its drawers just want to be pulled every which way. Drexel Heritage, M830 #hpmkt
The Bernhardt showroom looks like a million bucks thanks to the ministrations of their new and wildly talented creative director Ron Fiore. Wow, wow, wow! This little lady, aka Bernhardt, has ditched her dower duds and is now ready for her close-up. Here, Bernhardt's stunning acrylic Moroccan Side Table. I love nothing more than anything crafted in acrylic, and this table delivers with a capital "D." I see myself perching gobs of martinis upon this little looker. Bernhardt, IHFC, 601, #hpmkt
Kim Salmela Atelier does all sorts of fun and whimsical things with color, she is very Madcap Cottage in her color sensibility and pattern play. Here's Mademoiselle Salmela's Hayward sofa with its solid alder frame and delightful back and stunning upholstery. The Hayward makes me want to act like Talitha Getty before she ODed by lounging about and pretending like I am in Marrakech and YSL is about to come over for late-afternoon cocktails. Kim Salmela Atelier, Salon at Market Square, #hpmkt
A total orange crush at Amy Howard Home. The Cecilia Chair with a walnut-stained leg made in Memphis, Tennessee. Love "made in America." These chairs are so "meet me at Cecconi's in West Hollywood, glamour cakes, and let's spend the afternoon drinking martinis." Amy Howard Home, InterHall, 601 #hpmkt
The Abigail crib from Young America for Stanley. A delicious gray hue, very Christian Dior meets Martha Stewart Bedford Gray. Love the weathered finish on the edges. This glorious crib makes me want to make some babies. Cheminne is probably saying right now, "That Jason Oliver Nixon is a scamp!" Young America at Stanley IHFC 1158 #hpmkt
John and I discovered C.R. Laine and their amazing creations years ago, and we have enjoyed watching this little flower bud then blossom. C.R. Laine is read for its close-up, and how! (And there seemed to be more Style Spotter tags in this showroom than in any other!) Yeehaw! Here, the glorious Iliad chair in the Tangerine Dream finish with Inspire Porcelain fabric. Um, wow. Wow. And wow. I want these, and now. C.R. Laine, Hamilton-Wrenn Design District, #hpmkt
La-Z-Boy deserves a good look-over. The firm is showing lots more color and an amped-up sensibility. Here, the Alexa chair in the Fret Tourmaline ikat fabric upholstery. This is the perfect perch to curl up in and read a classic book such as "The Bitch" or "Lovers & Players" by Miss Jackie Collins with a hot beverage in hand, like a rum toddy or an Irish coffee. La-Z-Boy, Furniture Plaza Building, #hpmkt
The very glamorous contemporary-meets-traditional 1978-01 wingback chair from those uber-clever folks at Lee Industries! And how about that Lee party?! What a brilliant bender. I sat in the chair and imbibed like a fish. I am crazy about this chair's very chic frame... Lee Industries, 108 South Lindsay, #hpmkt
The fabulous and comfortable and "me likey much" Pablo sectional, sofa, and settee from Thomas O'Brien at the fabulous Hickory Chair. Meet me at the palazzo, sweetie, and let's sip Bellinis while the sun sets over Murano and then we will scamper through the acqua alta and make passionate love. Hickory Chair, 330 North Hamilton #hpmkt
I love nothing more than divine tole flowers, except perhaps a fifth of Scotch. So I almost peed in my pants when I discovered Tommy Mitchell and his divine painted tole flowers. Gorgeous. And so much more chic than houseplants, esp. if you travel as much as I do. And Tommy is just a delight, talented and rather shy and very chic. Smitten. I especially like his hollyhocks and Brussels sprouts and auriculas. Genius. Tommy Mitchell Company, Salon at Market Square, #hpmkt
The Preston ottoman in a Bimini ikat pattern from the Biscayne collection at Thibaut. These little honeys are reproduced from an antique and have a pillow top with crosscross stretchers and bamboo details. They fit everywhere. And I just want to loll about naked upon that gem-hued ikat fabric that tops this little lovely. Loll, loll, loll! I need a cigarette. Thibaut, Historic Market Square, 315 #hpmkt @thibaut_1886
Oh, those frisky cats over at Currey & Company! What delicious minxes! And what glorious goods this crew delivers. I am koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs for the plucked-from-Switzerland Alpine Chair in aged walnut. I see a pair of these "sitting pretties" situated on either side of a fireplace or in a hallway. I feel like dressing in Lederhosen and making a big pot of fondue and breaking into song. High on a hill was a lonely goatherd Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo. Currey & Company, IHFC, #hpmkt
I am crazy about the lighting designs from the fabulous folks at Ro-Sham-Beaux, and I almost walked off with their glorious Gail chandelier. This lovely lady gives me scarlet fever, and how, and how! The Gail offers the perfect punch of color with an industrial spin. I think it would also make a very fetching Isabella Blow-styled hat, too. Bunch several of these lookers in a room and crank up the "Dear Prudence" from Siouxise Sioux. Ro-Sham-Beaux, Suites at Market Square, #hpmkt
