I wish people understood the unique experience of grief and loss that comes with Alzheimer’s. My dad was 63 when he was diagnosed, and we’ve been living the loss of him for three years now, even though he is still in our presence. I can still hold my dad’s hand, but I miss him every day.”

Alzheimers is a nasty disease. It kills people while they are still alive. It forces people to grieve the loss of a loved one before they die. It robs a person of their memories, their ability to function properly.
