Sedum sarmentosum . "Whatever the name, this little sedum is fast-spreading, drought tolerant and easy to keep in check. It grows in the hot, full sun or in the shade. It doesn't seem to have any special soil requirements. In June, it's covered with tiny yellow flowers."

Weed-smothering groundcover: Soapwort - Soapworts are underappreciated plants. Many of them make fine groundcovers. 'Max Frei' is a low-growing, mat-forming selection that is highlighted with starry pink flowers in spring. It's an excellent choice for gardens because it tolerates summer's heat and humidity. Name: Saponaria x lempergii 'Max Frei'. Growing Conditions: Full sun and well-drained soil. Size: To 1 foot tall. Zones: 3-7

What a fabulous idea! Great idea! Outdoor faucet and hose are by my front door. To disguise them, I bought a small cabinet, painted it to match the house, and cut out the back panel. I placed the cabinet so that the spigot was in the back of the cabinet. The hose, attached to the faucet, sits inside, out of sight behind the closed doors.

SECRET Fertilizer :) My 'fertilizing cocktail' consists of mixing 1/2 bottle of cheap beer, 1 tablespoon of Epson salts, and 2 tablespoons of fish emulsion in a watering can (1-2 gallons). I do this to ALL my vegetable, flowers, and indoor plants. You will definitely notice the difference in a few weeks! Don't waste too much money on the beer. Cheapest still works great -- plants aren't picky!
