The seven-strand pearl choker that stunned the world. This magnificent choker with a large sapphire with two rows of diamonds surrounding it was originally a brooch. It was given to the Princess by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother as a wedding gift. The Princess wore it as a brooch on two occasions but had it altered to a choker. She wore it in Washington D.C. on November 9, 1985 when she danced with John Travolta at The White House. She also wore it with her black 'revenge' dress in 1995.
Diana gave a glimpse of the ’90s style she would embrace (bold colors, body-conscious silhouettes and shorter locks) at a 1990 event in Hungary. This is her Catherine Walker designed suit dress that she named the ‘Elvis’ dress, due to the high collar jacket it came with. Here she wears the strapless gown without the jacket.
