Mistakes Are Proof

I tried to explain this to a child with Autism. Pencils have erasers because we all make mistakes. He then patted me on the head and said "You're a mistake".

Desk arrangement - like the small group space in middle (can easily monitor other students working)

Students don't ask me for pencils anymore. No one leaves the room until all pencils are back on the board. (Photo only, but would be easy to make!)

When the light's on, students may not talk to you. What a FABULOUS idea! Perfect for guided reading or math groups.

Hang things on the wall using painter tape and hot glue. Place painter tape first and then hot glue wherever you need it to go. It'll come right off at the end of the year.

What little kiddo would not be absolutely thrilled to come and read at this guided reading table!?!?! LOVE!!!

In the end, only kindness matters. Be kind to those who are the least kind in return; they are the ones who have longer to go on a path you've already walked. Help them get there.

The ones that need it the most…

I want one for my classroom!

I want to do something like this in my classroom. I will put all major dates on it so the students have no excuse for not knowing when things are due.

Some children have problems crossing the midline as they read from left to right. Physical coordination activities designed for crossing the midline, like these hands on the wall, can improve their reading fluency.

Brain Exercises and Coordination

A "Poetry Tower" (This would be good for any kind of student work display.)
