Denmark, Jutland, Ribe. Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark that still exists, founded in 710. Some of the buildings can date themselves back to around that time. Most are from the last 500 years, as a fire swept through in 1518 and burned down much of it. Ribe was also hit hard by the plague, as well as floods, war, and the sanding of the ribe of the Ribe river, which greatly diminished its use as a major port location. By alucco7.
