Even with a graphics package, typography videos are a chore to put together. Once a line of text is larger than the original model, everything about the animation has to be modified. And that means spending the time figuring out how the template was designed the thing. Templates make things easy, but not necessarily easier.
Social Media Marketing: The beauty of templates is that sometimes it's perfect right out of the can! The client simply wanted to swipe out logo images and the website URL. The default template text had the right message. Done and done.
An expert will anticipate a client's problem before it happens. The client wanted to use an After Effects template as an opening to his video piece. I asked if his images will fit the horizontal dropzones of the template. Telling me they were all portraits, I suggested a change and we produced this instead.
A simple reveal that keeps the eye focused on the logo. Client wanted to create versions with different sub-text messages for various uses. Colors and text font changed to match the website. Turns out client and I are fellow alumni. Go Ags!
Fun and clever template that automatically colorizes dropzone images to appear as comic book art. Heavy use of 3D animation (on a single virtual stage) and multiple light sources to cast dramatic shadows, making it VERY render intensive.
The faux whiteboard animations are very clever, but making customizations can be a little tricky. The client wanted to remove a scene from the middle of the sequence. Because of the way the animation panned between scenes, I had to do some pretty hack things to make things look seamless.
Client wanted to take an Apple Motion template and cut it down to create a bumper to insert between video clips. See the demo video of the template in full: http://videohive.net/item/the-black-box/3557296
Statistical graphics package. Client wanted a recreation of the original VideoHive template demo video (which is normally watermarked with the HV logo). He took my modified project file to incorporate his own text.
Artryso - Interactive Marketing, Branding and Advertising: Their previous contractor didn't come through for some reason, so the client needed this job to be turned over quickly. They did an exceptional job preparing the media, so populating the template was less time consuming than usual. Intricate 3D video wall effect, so it renders rather slowly.
Marketing Website Intro - Kangen Ukon: Client originally wanted a longer video to sell the marketing concept. After a number of iterations, I convinced him that it the role of the website to sell the concept and the role of the video to hook the viewer into the site.
Affiliate Program Promo: Templates are meant to be "simple," but can be tricky! The client began to edit this on his own until he got stuck trying to implement some rather esoteric elements in Apple Motion. Some things require professional help.
mrecGO - Service Promo: Deconstructed and integrated three separate VideoHive templates to compose the final piece. Introducing a mobile search engine app aimed toward employment recruiters. The goal was to create a sense for mobile connectivity for an industry where the technology is underutilized.
