This shawl -- hooded or not -- is a great little addition for the spring and fall when there’s a slight chill in the air, or in the summer when the air conditioning is too high. Spring And Fall, Conditioning, Leg Warmers, My Hair, Hoods, Shawl, Pattern, Summer, How To Make

Reticulata pattern by Tanya Seaman

What I dreaded most about the prospect of chemotherapy? Losing my hair. It was the extent of what I knew before starting chemo. So, I thought I’d comfort myself (and wallow, a bit) by making a couple of hooded shawls.

Minty features an optional, detachable hood. The chevrons and stripes make this a fun and easy knit to take with you or cuddle up with at home. Cuddle, Chevron, Stripes, Knitting, Easy, Pattern, How To Make, Fun, Tops

Serendipia Pattern by Tanya Seaman Color Change, Curves, Socks, Hand Painted, Knitting, Crochet, Fabric, Pattern, How To Make

Serendipia Pattern by Tanya Seaman

Serendipia harnesses the stripyness of self-striping yarn in a wrap, when usually this striping is only seen in socks. It makes the most of the sort of short, repeated color changes in hand-painted yarn. To further accentuate the sinuous curves, I developed a decrease that is mostly invisible on the front side of the fabric. Pattern is available for download, and a video offers instruction.

Infinite Pools Pattern by Tanya Seaman

Infinite Pools harnesses the pooling (and striping) in space-dyed yarns. Invisible decreases are a special feature of this piece, and ensure that the color pattern is uninterrupted. A video tutorial teaches you how to do them. The interactive pattern guides you through customizing the pattern for your particular yarn.
