This is a great way to greet the students on the first day. The teacher gives each student a Meet the Teacher page and a goodie bag. There is also a student info sheet on each desk. This could be a great first assignment for students to begin working on as soon as they enter the room.

Morning Work Folders. I really like this idea and would love to be organized enough to do it. I don't know that we could plan out a full quarter in advance but I think a week or two is feasible for sure.

4 Sentence Types
Each student picks a stick and places the word in the right cup. Then, students choose one stick from each cup and create a sentence using all three words. A great informal assessment!
