The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea is the Episcopal parish for Palm Beach and one of the finest (and few) examples of Spanish Gothic architecture in Florida. It was built in 1925 by the first Protestant congregation in South Florida, formed in 1889. Adjacent are the formal, ornamental Cluett Memorial Gardens.

The site includes the massive 13th/15th-century fortress cathedral of Sainte Cécile, the former Episcopal Palace and the Palais de la Berbie, now the Toulouse-Lautrec museum. Also included are the palace’s riverside gardens, the Saint Salvi church and cloister, the Pont Vieux and the banks of the Tarn alongside it.
