Guided Writing for Halloween: My Spooky Story
Directions: Read the paragraph. Then, circle the orange words that make the paragraph about what you like! Students are given a short passage with gaps they must fill in to complete their story. Afterwards, they are told to re-write the entire paragraph including their personal selections. I used this Halloween Writing Lesson with my 4th grade special education students to help their writing move along faster and to help spark some creative ideas for the initial part of their story.
