Mother's Day Art Activity and Lesson Plan For Kids: Wind of Love
Art project for Grade 3 and up. It is able to be done with the younger students... you just need more supervision. :) This is MY favourite Valentine's Day activity. You will need black pencil crayon and coloured felts. At the end, a little bit of tempera paint. Your students will have a self-portrait of themselves blowing hearts. The Wind of Love awakens. Valentine's Day .
In this activity students create a picture that has rotational symmetry, using their name as their starting point. It is a great activity to add to your relief teacher folder because it does not require any photocopying. The only materials needed are white paper & textas or coloured pencils to decorate.
From my artful nest: texture animals. Sketch multiple textures on back, then choose your animal. divide both background and animal with interesting lines, filling in each area with different textures using marker
Pipe cleaner portraits: Alexander Calder. Calder would carry a ball of wire and pliers in his pocket and do portraits of folks in wire at parties. This is a great way to introduct this type of art to kiddos.
