Rose Verbena (annual/short-lived perennial): low maintenance, attracts butterflies

Dianthus barbatus (biennial/short-lived perennial). Blooms all summer and into early fall, attracts bees and butterflies. Its common name is "Sweet William."

(Wallflower) Erysimum ‘Bowles' Mauve’ (short-lived perennial). Blooms nonstop spring through fall (sometimes into winter), drought tolerant, evergreen.

Viola 'Johnny Jump Up' (annual or short-lived perennial). Will self-sow all over the place.

Phlox 'David' (perennial). Fragrant with good resistance to powdery mildew.

Stock (annual). One of my favorite fragrances.

Lavender (perennial). We love the fragrance so have it right outside our front door.
