Music, Remember, Childhood Memories, 1960S, Vinyl, Oxford Street, Buying Record
hmv-1960s-records-music: kids being born today probably will never see the inside of a record store. And why would they? Buying music used to involve wandering round a store browsing, picking up things based on cover art, putting them down based on scornful glares from record store employees, and generally being outside your house. Now buying music amounts to nothing more than a click of your mouse. #nostalgia

I originally hoped that "the ladies" weren't shopping for other "easy listening" records on that side of the bin as well! The bigger pic shows "soul" albums. Ad: That's Right, Ladies Records Plus aims to provide you best place to buy #Vinyl Online at http://records-plus.com
Buying albums -- My girl friend and I spent some of our lunch hours listening to old Rusty Warren party records in a private record booth of a Michigan Ave. record store.
Yes, shopping on iTunes is a lot easier, but I feel sorry for people who will never know the unique joy of browsing in a record store. I would spend hours pouring over albums, savoring the thrill of the hunt.
I miss record stores. Visiting one was a special experience, not mere shopping. Remember the album cover art? And the intentional sequence of the songs on the albums? I used to spend every Saturday morning there, shopping for their $4.99 sale records.
I miss record stores. Did you hang on to any of your vinyl records?

"US soldier with a South Vietnamese child, Vietnam (Philip Jones Griffiths, 1967)." Look at the soldier's eyes. Whenever you look into the eyes of a soldier who has experienced combat, I've noticed, they always look like this. I've seen pictures of soldiers from the Civil War, WWI and WWII and this is how they all look. It's very humbling ... It's called the "1,000 yard stare".

US soldier with a South Vietnamese child, Vietnam (Philip Jones Griffiths, 1967) Not uncommon whatsoever, many soldiers would end having children with the Vietnamese woman and usually the child would then be sent to America to stay with their fathers for better prospects. The children were called the Bui Doi or "The Dust of Life"
