If I could only have one type of food for the rest of my life - I would chose Indian - hands down. In another life, when I actually LIKE cooking, I'm going to prepare lots of delicious Indian dishes. In the meantime, thank God for Indian restaurants.

Turmeric; Haldi (Curcuma longa) is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It is native to tropical South Asia and needs temperatures between 20 °C and 30 °C and considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes, and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season.Turmeric grows wild in forests of South and Southeast Asia.
