Social Mvmts: Black Lives Matter

In 2012, a neighborhood watch coordinator named George Zimmerman killed an unarmed Black teen named Trayvon Martin. Then in 2014, an NYPD officer put Eric Garner, a Black man, in a lethal chokehold & an officer fatally shot Black teen Michael Brown. In all three cases, the men who used lethal force have either been acquitted or never stood trial. Galvanized by these events, protestors organized under #BlackLivesMatter, and this board surveys their protests and their efforts to stamp out racism.
