Henrique Oliveira: Transarquitetônica (2014)

Artist Henrique Oliveira Constructs a Cavernous Network of Repurposed Wood Tunnels at MAC USP Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira (previously) recently completed work on his largest installation to date titled Transarquitetônica at Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade in São Paulo. Oliveira uses the repurposed wood pieces as a skin nailed to an organic framework that looks intentionally like a large root system.
Amazing Art Installation Recreates Life as a Tree Root Ever admired a tall tree and wondered about what’s going on down below the ground? Artist Henrique Oliveira has created a stunning eco-installation so that visitors to the Museu de Arte Contemporanea da Universidade in Sao Paulo can get a first hand look at what it’s like to be the root of a tree, growing under ground.
Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira’s interactive sculpture ... has taken over the Museum de Arte in Sao Paulo’s sleek and white corridors, tumbling around erect columns like a jungle taking over an uninhabited city. Henrique used repurposed wood pieces as the skin of his Transarquitetonica, and we imagine that walking through the cocooned corridors of the wooden maze must be an enthralling experience. An immense and intriguing project that will take you deep into the woods.

Contemporary artist Gabriel Dawe turned historic Villa Olmo in Como, Italy into a beautiful rainbow art installation entitled Plexus no. 19, which stretched from balcony to balcony, filling the room with vibrant color.
How amazing is this installation that Gabriel Dawes created for Miniartextil, an annual contemporary art exhibition in Como, Italy? Known for his vibrant, three dimensional thread art, Dawes explores color by experimenting with natural light and space. I’m sure seeing his work in person is a hundred times as impressive as it is through images. Even so, it’s mesmerizing and utterly beautiful.

‘Poetic Cosmos of the Breath’, an experimental solar dome. At dawn, crowds formed around a giant and colorful, circular foil, pinned to the ground at the edges with sand bags. Throughout the morning, the artist and his team gradually filled the foil with air and created a stunning colored wonderland, which is just magical, unique and full of positive energy. ‘Slowly we helped the giant fill with air and grow as the sun came up…the material spectacularly colourful as the sun reflected off it.’

by Ayaka Ito "Upon studying how lines could be integrated into a realistic photography composition, we were inspired by wire sculptures made into human form by Rachel Ducker. We studied why these wire sculptures looked so intriguing, and how the wires could look like it unraveled the human form. Erik Natzke was another contemporary artist who inspired us, created fascinating artwork out of Flash programming."

‘Mouth of Sand”, 2010 photograph by Cuban artist Liset Castillo In my new body of work, “Human Studies,” from 2010, I subvert notions of enduring beauty with life-size images of women sculpted in a labor-intensive process out of sand, which I then photographed before destroying them. I create life-size sand sculptures of models typically found in high-gloss fashion magazines, photograph the works in sand and then I destroy them as a commentary on the ephemeral na
