How to Grow Ginger - Studies say ginger’s peak flavor arrives at 265 days, And if you start the ginger inside in late winter, that one root can produce four times that amount by fall! (Which I AM!) But you’ll only get this long growing season by starting your ginger indoors as a houseplant early in the year and then transplanting it in your garden in late spring, once the weather’s warmed.

Gardenia. In California we enjoy these delightful bushes. The most beautiful flower in the world..
Plant Gardenias & let your garden smell wonderful
My mama always said her gardenias bloomed just for my birthday. My favorite flower- I had 33 in my wedding bouquet.
Gardenias, my favorite flower. These are a MUST in any garden I may have. They are so beautiful and smell like perfection!
Gardenias - My grandmother had a gardenia plant in her yard and I remember the fragrant smell coming in on the warm summer nights when I stayed the night with her. I am going to plant one. Reminds me of her so much.

Prune Lavender in late winter or early spring. Cut the stems back as close as possible to the old, brown wood without cutting into the old wood since new shoots won't be produced from the old wood (don't start pruning until after it has been planted for a year). Shear back to a few healthy leaves above the brown stems. In late summer after flowering, cut it back again removing all old flower heads to prevent it from making unwanted seeds.
