The winners of the 2007 Solar Decathlon are at it again, this time with their butterfly-roofed WaterShed house. The University of Maryland team have modeled their project after the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.
On a designed imaginary site a river is placed that splits the site in two. The urban plan is based on the river’s curved direction. It is organized into areas with different uses (housing, retail, recreation, education, culture) that surround the river.
