My favorite Irish symbol; the Claddaugh (with a shamrock here). It represents love (the heart), loyalty (the crown) and friendship (the hands holding the heart). I have this symbol all over my house and tattooed on my ankle. On a side note, the shamrock represents the Holy Trinity (God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost) and St. Patrick used them to teach this to children. (pinned from @Kathleen S DeCosmo.)

Irish Symbols | Celtic Symbols

Celtic symbol is the Claddagh, which represents a heart for love, hands for friendship and a crown for loyalty. When offering a claddagh ring to the one you love it was once customary to say, "I give you my heart, crowned with my love." awww I love this!

for the Irish in me :)

The Claddagh is an old Irish symbol that represents Love, Loyalty and Friendship: everything needs in a relationship. One of my favorite Irish symbols.

The spectacular moon Mehr

As the edge of the moon touched the top of the waterfall the cascade turned the color of the pale yellow moon. Slowly the light touched the river and began to flow down the river. He watched, pensive, as his cloak flapped int he light breeze.
