He's a nerdy geek & she's a geeky dork. Happily married parents of three who enjoy being on the fringe. These are the things they like, want, or do...not porn.

Kaylee & Simon. They are so cute :3

I'm gonna live!" after Simon tells Kaylee in Serenity that is his one regret was not getting with her.", He meant so much more, but she was focused on one thing.

Muggleborns at Hogwarts! Also, I read the one from I-Am-Benedict_Cumberlocked in a Sherlock voice =3

Muggleborns at Hogwarts. < I really hate the assumption that muggleborns would be all. Like there would never be a jock or hipster muggleborn like real life who would be above this childish stuff. Fun ideas, but really ridiculous theories.

Sidecar Roundup: Sidecars are one of the basic cocktails. You’ll notice the recipe is similar to daiquiris, sours, and margaritas. There is also quite a lot of debate on the proper ratio of Cognac, Cointreau,…

Maida: Can we all agree Anjelica Huston should have more drinks named for her? This is the Maida. 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 oz Guinness syrup 1/2 oz strawberry puree (I use pre-made mix) ice Place everything in a shaker or tall glass. Stir, not shake, to chill. Pour into a coupe (cocktail glass if you must). May the roof above you never fall in, and those gathered beneath it never fall out.

Can we all agree Anjelica Huston should have more drinks named for her? This is the Maida. It is tall, dark, slightly sweet, and strong. Huston is a bit Irish and she spent a significan…

Bagman: This drink is not for the faint of heart. 2 oz Scotch (Glenlivet 12) 1 oz tequila (I used a silver, but an aged gold or reposado might be quite nice) 1 oz squeezed orange juice 1/2 oz sweet vermouth ice, orange twist This is pretty straight forward. Shave the orange twist first. Next roll and squeeze the juice. Drop a few ice cubes in a rocks glass. Measure and pour the ingredients over the ice. Rub the peel along the rim and place the twist in the glass. Sip. For goodness’ sake…

This drink is not for the faint of heart. I can’t really explain my motivations for this drink; I wanted something aged and strong with orange.

The Only Coke I Like When you listened to our podcast on Slither, you heard a character refer to his favorite ‘coke’ as Mr. Pibb. This is actually a Jack & Mr. Pibb…the coke you surely meant to order. 2 oz Jack Daniels Mr. Pibb Place ice in a glass. Pour in the Jack. Fill with Mr. Pibb. Make it as strong as you like.

It was a crazy week for our house: illness, work, and costume prep. So I’m keeping this simple this week. Is there anything easier than a Jack & Coke?

Lesser Demon 1 oz spiced rum (Captain Morgan) 1 oz Southern Comfort 3/4 oz blue curaçao (It’s what I have on hand. You may use orange curaçao.) 3/4 oz sour mix 1/2 oz Midori ice Add all the ingredients to a shaker with ice. Stir gently. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. I used a large ice globe for this to better control the melt. Use cubes if you like to weaken your drink. I didn’t garnish this (I rarely do) but I think a few orange twists would be great with this drink.
