November 1651 – 17 April full name Juana Inés de Asbaje y Ramírez de Santillana, was a self-taught scholar and poet of the Baroque school, and nun of New Spain. She lived in a colonial era when Mexico was part of the Spanish Empire.
Sor Juana had to earn respect by the men of her time. She was asked to go to a meeting and answer questions by many prominent people. She earned a great reputation and following following this meeting.
