I was like a fish out of water / before I met you, / the world was less bold, / the sky was less blue,
you arrived suddenly, / unforeseen, / and, abruptly, the world changed / Life. blossomed before my eyes
and all around me things shifted, / the air was more sweet / you held my hand walking down the street,
you were surprised by me, / that we could be so alike / somehow, as if we knew each other, / though we have never met in this / Life.
and then you were gone, / we were parted so soon, / and we waited for the time / that we would resume,
but never were we apart / not metaphorically, anyway, / for you were always in my head / and you, in turn, saw me everyday.
and then we were together / it was bliss, of the best kind / to resume my / Life. with you,
I’ve shared with you / all that I am, / and you’ve shared with me / with all your heart
together we face the future / not knowing what will come; / it seems strange to not know, / but be so certain, / that with you it does not matter / what befalls us,
for together, we will weather. / with love, trust, and happiness, / Life. as it carries us through / and in turn, we carry each other through / Life.
