Ole Miss - University of Mississippi Rebels - William Faulkner is one of Mississippi's most honored & revered citizens. His work as an author/screenwriter earned him in 1950 the Nobel Prize in Literature. The house sits on over 25 acres of beautiful Mississippi land & was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1968. The house helped to inspire Faulkner's work and laid the foundation for his fictional Yoknapatawpha County. The Rowan Oak House is open to the public.
