Onde fica o banheiro?
Where is the bathroom? I'll need to know when I visit all these places. Some I have already been to, and probably looked for a bathroom.

#4 The Amazing Shrinking Sea The Aral Sea was a lake near Kazakhstan. It was formerly one of the largest lakes in the world but because of ...
comparisons of the aral sea. Soviet union diverted the supplying rivers into irrigation in order to provide their independent source of cotton. As the water supply to the Aral Sea decreased, the demand for cotton increased, and the Soviet Union responded by pouring more pesticides and fertilizers onto the land. Land in most of the surrounding areas, no matter what the crop, was saturated with dangerous levels of the chemicals needed to grow the Soviet Union's cotton. . The decline in the groundwater level in the Amudarya and Syrdarya deltas contributed to the piling up of salt at the surface. This increase in salt content was later accompanied by a change in vegetative cover because the plants began to die away as a result of the increased salinity of the sea. As a result, vegetation in the region was reduced by at least 40%. A side effect of the decrease in the protective vegetation cover was intensified winds, which led to more dust storms in the area. Six million hectares of agricultural land were destroyed as a result of salinization and desertification (Bosch 2007).

The Aral Sea lies in Central Asia, in former Soviet Republics of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Due to Soviet redirection of the Sea's sources, the Aral Sea has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s. So unfortunately there is not much left.

The shrinking of the Aral Sea has been called "one of the planet's worst environmental disasters". The region's once prosperous fishing industry has been essentially destroyed, bringing unemployment and economic hardship. The Aral Sea region is also heavily polluted, with consequent serious public health problems. The retreat of the sea has reportedly also caused local climate change, with summers becoming hotter and drier, and winters colder and longer

My favourite road trip - the Karakorum Highway (linking China and Pakistan).
Karakoram Highway is the highest paved international road in the world. It connects China and Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass, at an elevation of 15,397 ft. The KKH is best travelled in the spring or early autumn. Heavy snow during harsh winters can shut the highway down for extended periods. Heavy monsoon rains, around July and August, cause occasional landslides that can block the road for hours or more.
