Places I Want To Go
My favourite French Château! Château de Chenonceaux is a French chateau near the small village of Chenonceaux in France. The chateau was built on the site of an old mill on the River Cher, some time before its first mention in writing in the 11th century.
Puente Nuevo - Ronda, Spain ... "The Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of three bridges that span the chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the city of Ronda, in southern Spain. Construction of the bridge began in 1751, took a total of 42 years to complete, and claimed the lives of 50 builders. There is a chamber beneath the central arch that was used for a variety of purposes, including as a prison."
Herstmonceux Castle, Hailsham, East Sussex, is one of the oldest significant brick buildings still standing in England; brick was an unusual material for the time (Tudor) in Britain. The builders of Herstmonceux Castle concentrated more on grandeur and comfort than on defence.
